State distributes remaining ARPA funds to NEUs

Contact: Candice Bock, Jacob Ewing

Nonentitlement unit cities (NEUs) may have noticed a deposit hit their accounts this week labeled as “COVID-19 Local Recovery.” These are remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars from cities that did not accept the funds. ARPA requires funds not accepted by NEUs and not redirected to the state to be proportionally redistributed to all other NEUs within the state. These additional funds must be spent and tracked the same as other ARPA funds. For more information on how to use ARPA funds, please be sure to check out AWC’s ARPA webpage.
