DRS receives large records request for employee information

Contact: Candice Bock

The Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) has received a public records request for information for all individuals currently employed by a public employer in Washington. As part of DRS’s third-party notice process, they are notifying both individual employees and public employers about the request.

As public employers, cities should have received notice from DRS in early December. DRS is asking public employers to help by sharing the notice with employees. DRS is not asking for any other assistance at this time.

If you want additional information or have questions about a request, please contact DRS at 844-704-6780 or drs.pdrnotice@drs.wa.gov.
