Senate Remote Testimony Pilot Program expanded to public

Contact: Regina Adams

What happens if there is a bill up for hearing in a Senate Committee that could impact your city, but you simply cannot make it to Olympia to testify? You may be able to testify remotely. The Senate has been allowing invited participants to testify remotely via videoconferencing through a pilot project. The project is being expanded this session to include testimony from the public.

To use this service, you must register to testify online 24 hours before the hearing begins. As of this article’s publish date, there are no opportunities to sign up for remote testimony available yet. They will be listed here with the testimony registration forms as they are offered.

To testify, you will go to one of the remote testimony sites. Testifiers are expected to follow committee protocol and chair testimony rules as if testifying in Olympia.

The 2018 testimony sites (and expected 2019 sites) include:

  • Bellevue College, Bellevue
  • Bellingham Technical College, Bellingham
  • Central Washington University, Ellensburg
  • Clark College, Vancouver
  • Columbia Basin College, Pasco
  • Confluence Technology Center, Wenatchee
  • Everette Community College, Everett
  • North Eastern Washington ESD, Spokane
  • Peninsula College, Port Angeles
  • Skagit Valley College, Mt. Vernon
  • Spokane Community College, Spokane
  • Spokane Community College-Newport, Newport
  • Spokane Falls Community College, Spokane
  • Walla Walla Community College, Walla Walla
  • Washington State University, Spokane
  • Wenatchee Valley College, Wenatchee
