Updates to motorcycle parking requirements

Contact: Logan Bahr, Maggie Carol

SB 6565, sponsored by Sen. Emily Randall (D–Bremerton), mandates that motorcycles parked along a highway must be parked parallel or at an angle with at least one wheel within twelve inches of the curb. The bill authorizes cities to prohibit angle parking for motorcycles, but cities must post visible signage to inform drivers.

Dates to remember

SB 6565 is scheduled for public hearing the Senate Transportation Committee at 3:30 pm on Monday, February 3.
