Municipal electric utilities planning efforts for transportation electrification

Contact: Logan Bahr, Andrew Pittelkau

HB 1512, sponsored by Rep. Jake Fey (D–Tacoma), allows municipal electric utilities to adopt plans that promote the electrification of the transportation system. The plan must establish a finding that utility outreach and investment in the electrification of transportation infrastructure is cost-effective, using an industry-recognized cost test which could include a ratepayer impact measure or total resource cost.

AWC supports this bill.

Dates to remember

The bill is scheduled for a public hearing before the House Environment and Energy Committee on Monday, February 4 at 1:30 pm.
