Contact: Carl Schroeder, Shannon McClelland

The Washington State Department of Commerce (Commerce) recently announced that $100,000 is available through a competitive grant process to help fund climate change planning. All cities and counties are eligible to apply.

The grants may be used to amend Growth Management Act comprehensive plans to integrate climate change planning into objectives, policies, and related implementation projects. In addition to this grant opportunity, Commerce will also be releasing a guidebook to assist cities and counties in planning for climate change impacts.

Five $20,000 grants will be awarded. Applications are due June 19, 2020. For more information, contact Gary Idleburg at Commerce.
