Each year, AWC conducts a comprehensive survey of the salaries and benefits provided to employees in Washington’s cities and counties. The survey is an important AWC service as it provides city and county officials with comparable data to assist
them in determining wages and benefits for their staff. AWC conducted the 2021 Salary and Benefits Survey this spring and we've just released the results.
The data is available to AWC member cities, AWC associate members, and counties. Members can access the data by signing into the Salary and Benefits Survey reporting tool here. You will need your AWC user ID and password to access the data. If you don’t have an account, or need new credentials, you can use our website to retrieve your user ID or request a password reset.
With nearly 85% participation (236 of 281 cities and towns, and 35 or 39 counties), the information provided by the survey results will be valuable for upcoming city budget planning. As part of the survey, we collected more than 2,700 job descriptions
that members can filter and reference by position through use of our reporting tool. We’ve also included information on new positions like Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Representatives and Public Records Officers.
This tool is available only to those who represent management. Specific authorization is needed from AWC staff to gain access to the system. You can read more in our terms and conditions about proper access and use of the Salary and Benefits Survey data.
AWC thanks all the cities and county staff that took the time to fill out this year’s survey. Your input was vital to this important AWC service.
