Here at AWC we know that our members’ most important assets are the dedicated city employees who serve the public. We also know how complicated the field of human resources can be, given the constant changes in the legal and social environments and the resulting challenges. To help our members navigate this rapidly evolving landscape, AWC is launching HR Insights, a bimonthly newsletter dedicated entirely to human resources and labor relations topics.
We have long worked to support both employees and employers, as we understand the importance of a positive and productive relationship between the two. AWC provides a number of services via our Member Pooling Programs,
such as the Employee Benefit Trust, to help meet the needs of city personnel. We also prioritize member education, as can be seen through our various trainings and events, like the Labor Relations Institute Annual Conference.
With HR Insights we are expanding our offerings in this area, given how complex and critical the issues are for our members. While we will continue to cover this topic in our other publications, here we will focus on new legislation, state agency
rulemaking, and emerging trends and training opportunities – all related to human resources and labor relations.
The newsletter will be sent only to those AWC members who work in human resources and labor relations; however, you are free to share it with others in your organization. If you do not want to receive the newsletter, feel free to unsubscribe at any time.
Since this is a new effort, if there are specific issues you would like us to cover, please let us know. We welcome your feedback.
With that, we kick of our first-ever edition of HR Insights.
