Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for attorneys credits


AWC has been approved for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit from the Washington State Bar Association for a total of 16.5 credits. Approved sessions include:

  • Other credit – Professional development: “Rubber Band Rule” of respect (keynote and breakout), Communication and conflict, Interactive HR roundtable discussions, and Ready or not: Succession planning for uncertain times
  • Other credit – Office management: Navigating employee performance

 

Certificate of Municipal Leadership


CML-icon-75AWC’s Certificate of Municipal Leadership (CML) Program recognizes mayors and councilmembers for accomplishing training in five competency areas. To earn the certificate, municipal leaders must meet requirements in the following competencies and achieve a total of 30 credits:

  • Legal requirements, roles and responsibilities, and ethics (Legal)
  • Budgeting and financial management (Budget)
  • Infrastructure, transportation, and land use (Land use)
  • Building safe, healthy, and thriving communities (Community)
  • Effective local leadership (Leadership)

Upon completion of the Labor Relations Institute, elected officials automatically receive 7 CML credits in the Legal competency area.
