Cannabis bills get some legislative action – But none that impacts cities

Contact: Derrick Nunnally, Emma Shepard

The Legislature did not pass any significant changes to the state’s cannabis laws.

HB 1449 would have legalized home grows of a limited amount of cannabis plants and assigned enforcement responsibility to local law enforcement. It did not advance out of committee.

SB 5758 also died, but would have modified local cannabis business licensing distance requirements for social equity license holders to 250 feet.
