Need more time to submit data for the AWC Salary & Benefit Survey? Deadline extended one final time to June 6.

Contact: Matt Doumit

Did you want to submit data to the 2025 AWC Salary & Benefit Survey, but ran out of time? Good news, it’s not too late! We have extended the deadline to Friday, June 6 to provide cities, towns, and counties more time to complete the survey. The Salary & Benefit Survey tool is only as useful as the data that we get each year, and we hope that cities, towns, and counties can continue to put up robust participation in the survey in 2025.

Access your survey here.

This is the final extension of the 2025 Salary & Benefit Survey, as AWC staff needs time to verify and process the submissions before we publish the data later this summer.

For those that have not yet started the survey, AWC includes a number of features in the survey to help make it easier to fill out, including:

  • Showing previous submissions: When you are filling out the survey, just hover your cursor over the data entry window and your previous submission for that item should appear in a pop up – making it easier to reference previous data if nothing has changed since the last time your city or county has submitted a survey.
  • Trust member benefits: AWC’s Employee Benefits Trust members do not have to enter benefits data into the survey as that information has already been pre-loaded into your city or county’s survey.
  • AWC customer support: If you have questions about completing your city’s Salary & Benefit Survey, please reach out to us at research@awcnet.org or 1-800-562-8981. We are happy to help.

We are currently sitting at 194 cities, towns, and counties that have completed their surveys for 2025. To those that have submitted data – thanks for all of your work to participate in this important tool! Check to see if your jurisdiction is one of those that have already completed the survey below:

The deadline for the 2025 Salary & Benefit Survey is coming soon. See if your city or county has already completed it

April 30, 2025

The 2025 AWC Salary & Benefit Survey (SBS) is scheduled to go through May 2, so cities, towns, and counties should work towards completing their submissions this week. Thanks to all of those that have already completed their submissions.

If you have questions about completing your city’s 2025 Salary & Benefit Survey, please reach out to us at research@awcnet.org or 1-800-562-8981. We are happy to help.

The long-running annual AWC Salary & Benefit Survey is a tool that has been an important part of AWC’s services for cities and towns (and our county partners) since the 1950s. It is a comprehensive survey of salaries and benefits provided to most city, town, and county employees. It is a great tool to help local governments determine wages and benefits for staff, and it is especially useful for local government budget writers and in collective bargaining.

AWC member cities and towns, Washington State Association of Counties member counties, and public sector AWC associate members get access to survey data and full access to our reporting dashboard (a great tool for working with the dataset). Non-members and private sector associate members can purchase access to the data and a more limited version of the reporting dashboard.

As of this writing, 92 cities, towns, and counties have already completed the 2025 SBS. We greatly appreciate all of the work that local government staff put into completing the survey each year. Thanks for contributing to this important tool! Look to see if your jurisdiction is one of them:
