The 2024 Salary and Benefit Survey (SBS) was published mid-July 2024. The overall response rate was consistent with the 2023 SBS (the 2023 overall response rate was about 84%), as well as with the previous few years of surveys.

2024 SBS:

• 83% overall response rate
• 82% response rate from cities
• 85% response rate from counties

Below is some 2024 data for a few select cities and positions. You can find a table of historical data for these cities and positions in the table in Section II of our report Overview of the AWC Salary and Benefit Survey.

The SBS is a longstanding, versatile tool for cities and counties to use in determining salaries and benefits for employees. We are thankful for the participation of local governments in filling out the survey and contributing to this great resource for members.
