AWC seeks a city elected official to serve on the Criminal Justice Training Commission. The elected official may not be a sheriff or police chief, and may not have been employed as a peace officer or prosecutor in any jurisdiction for the last 10 years.
About the Criminal Justice Training Commission
The Commission develops and implements training standards and programs designed to upgrade criminal justice personnel; establishes standards relating to physical, mental and moral fitness for recruiting criminal justice personnel. Learn more about the Criminal Justice Training Commission.
Time commitment, travel expenses
The Commission will meet quarterly with additional meetings as needed. Terms on the Commission are for six years. Members are reimbursed through the commission for travel expenses as provided in state law. AWC does not cover expenses.
Application process
The AWC Board of Directors will review applications at its next meeting and submit nominees to the Governor's Office for consideration of appointment. Final appointment will be made by the Governor.
