As part of Ecology’s Phase I and Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit reissuance process, they are asking for feedback on formal draft language proposed for the following documents:
- Phase I Municipal Stormwater General Permit
- Western and Eastern Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater General Permits
- Western and Eastern Washington Stormwater Management Manuals (SWWMs)
The draft permits and SWMMs are available for review and public comment from August 16, through 11:59 pm, November 10. Ecology will host informational workshops and public hearings on the draft permits and SWMMs (more information below).

Public workshops and hearings
Ecology is holding six informational workshops and public hearings. Four of these events are online, and two are in person. The dates, times, and formats of each event are provided below.
The purpose of the workshops is to explain the proposed changes to the draft permits and SWMMs, and to answer questions prior to the formal public hearings. The purpose of the hearings is to provide an opportunity for people to give formal oral testimony on the proposed draft permits and SWMMs. Oral testimony will receive the same consideration as written comments.
The public hearings will begin immediately following the public workshops and will conclude when public testimony is complete.
Eastern WA permit and SWMMEW focus

Hearings will follow the workshop and will close after all the testimony is provided. The workshop portion is anticipated to be about two hours.
