State Tax Structure Work Group continues evaluation of potential changes to tax structure

Contact: Candice Bock, Sheila Gall

The State Tax Structure Work Group has been conducting stakeholder outreach as it begins to evaluate potential options for proposed tax structure changes that it may recommend by the end of 2022. However, proposals in the final report are also expected to be impacted by the outcome of legislative elections later this fall.

The next meeting on September 21 will focus on the Department of Revenue’s evaluation of tax concepts discussed and prioritized at the work group meeting in May, with the goal of developing tax policy proposals. While the focus is on the state tax structure, changes related to the margins tax and property tax limit proposals could impact local government taxes.

See the Tax Structure Work Group website for more information.
