Don’t forget: JLARC public records request reports due July 1

Contact: Candice Bock, Jacob Ewing

Agencies that spend over $100,000 in staff and legal costs associated with maintaining public records and responding to records requests are required to file an annual metrics report with the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee (JLARC). Additionally, JLARC staff ask that agencies that do not meet the threshold voluntarily report on these metrics or indicate that the agency did not meet the threshold for required reporting.

The JLARC Public Records Reporting System is currently active. If you have questions or concerns about registering an account or reporting data, please feel free to review the agency guidance document, revisions to agency guidance document, or the FAQ document. Additional questions may be directed to JLARCPublicRecStudy@leg.wa.gov.

The deadline for reporting 2020 data is Thursday, July 1, 2021.
