Utility customers seeking financial help should contact their county assistance programs

Contact: Candice Bock, Maggie Douglas

Cities receiving calls regarding delinquent utility bills and customer assistance requests should direct customer questions to their local county’s financial assistance programs. AWC does not provide utility assistance resources or specific information for utility customers.

A full list of assistance programs by electric or natural gas utilities is available from the Department of Commerce (Commerce). Customers may also qualify for Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). To apply for LIHEAP, customers should use the prescreening and scheduling tool available on Commerce’s website.
