The National League of Cities (NLC) held its virtual City Summit and annual business meeting November 17-20.
Congratulations to Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards who was elected NLC Second Vice President and will make her way up to President in 2022! Woodards is the first Washingtonian to hold an NLC Board officer position since the 1980s.
Congratulations also to Vancouver Councilmember Ty Stober who was elected to the NLC Board and thank you to Lacey Mayor Andy Ryder who continues to serve. The NLC Advisory Council, comprised of former NLC board members, includes our own Mayor David Baker
of Kenmore, Deputy Mayor Cynthia Pratt of Lacey, Councilmember Conrad Lee of Bellevue, and Councilmember Doris McConnell of Shoreline.
Spokane Councilmember Candace Mumm was elected to chair of the Western Municipal Association (WMA). This is a networking association for elected officials and league/association staff in all Western states that meets twice a year to share updates on common
issues, state legislative trends, and other policy issues.
