Expect a new and improved OPMA proclamation this week

Contact: Candice Bock, Jacob Ewing

Emergency proclamation 20-28.11, which modifies the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) and Public Records Act (PRA) has been extended to December 7.

Over the past several weeks, AWC staff have worked with the Governor’s Office on new language for a revised version of the emergency proclamation modifying the OPMA and PRA. We expect that the forthcoming revision will extend current modifications and allow for additional in-person meeting options.

When we initially published this article we were expecting the revised Proclamation this week; however, we recently learned that the revised proclamation addressing in-person attendance at public meetings has been delayed until sometime next week.

Until the proclamation is issued, cities should continue to follow the guidelines set forth in emergency proclamation 20-28.11.
