Commerce seeks participants for behavioral health facilities model ordinance discussion

Contact: Sharon Swanson, Jacob Ewing

Commerce in partnership with BERK Consulting are looking to recruit participants for a 90-minute discussion regarding the development of a model ordinance for siting community-based behavioral health facilities. During the discussion, participants will be asked about local experiences and perspectives about siting issues, including processes and requirements, challenges, opportunities, and ideas on what should be included in a model ordinance.

Dates for the discussion times are below. If you wish to participate, please register soon – participation is capped at 10 participants per session.

  • Tuesday, November 17 – 1 pm to 2:30 pm (Elected officials)
  • Thursday, November 19 – 3:30 pm to 5 pm (Staff)
  • Friday, November 20 – 9 am to 10:30 am (Elected officials)
  • Monday, November 23 – 3 pm to 4:30 pm (Staff)

Once the draft ordinance and regulatory guidance are developed, there will be another opportunity to provide input.

If you have any general questions about the project, feel free to reach out Amber Siefer at the Department of Commerce, amber.siefer@commerce.wa.gov.
