Wellness programs look different this year amid the pandemic. It may feel difficult to meet the WellCity standards; but this is an opportunity to be creative in how you achieve WellCity status. Wellness activities are probably the standard that feels the most unattainable during this time. We wanted to share some ideas of how to meet the activity requirements in Standard 8.
- Standard 8.1 – Awareness: delivery of health education information via an employee newsletter (physical or electronic), bulletin board, handouts, etc.
- Things that count – promoting the Naturally Slim program, doing a wellness reward campaign, sharing information and resources about COVID-19, or including wellness information in an internal employee newsletter.
- Standard 8.2 – Motivation: a one-time event that provides employees with information or opportunity to practice skills.
- Standard 8.3 – Behavior change: activities that provide employees an opportunity to practice a healthy habit over time.
- This can be met by promoting and participating in one of the Castlight step challenges. Our next step challenge will be in October, materials coming soon!
- Standard 8.5 – Healthy Decisions: you could promote viewing the videos on the app to earn points towards the wellness reward or play one via screen share during a meeting. Use the materials we provide in this toolkit.
