Robot delivery device bill passes Legislature

Contact: Logan Bahr, Brandon Anderson

HB 1325, concerning the regulation of personal delivery devices, passed the Legislature last week after the House concurred with amendments made in the Senate.

The bill establishes a regulatory framework for the operation of personal delivery devices, also called semi-autonomous delivery robots. The bill respects local control and allows these devices to operate in a jurisdiction provided they are operated within local governments’ rules and regulations. AWC worked with the bill sponsor on changes and supported the passage of the bill.

The bill now awaits signature by the Governor.
