Motorized scooter bill passes House and gets scheduled for Senate public hearing

HB 1772 concerning motorized foot scooters, was passed by the House after being amended on the floor. The bill establishes a regulatory framework for motorized foot scooters and motorized scooter share companies. The current version of the bill provides flexibility for local governments’ ability to regulate the operation of scooters within their jurisdictions.

AWC supports the current version and will continue to work with cities and stakeholder to improve the language of the bill.

HB 1772 is scheduled for a public hearing in the Senate Transportation Committee on Wednesday, March 20 at 3:30 pm.
