The Senate Transportation Committee recently passed three state transportation funding bills which would provide $17 billion dollars for 80 major transportation projects across the state. The bills were voted out by a narrow majority which may mean the bills don’t have enough support to advance in the lawmaking process.
SB 5970 authorizes the sale of general obligation bonds for transportation project funding; SB 5971 establishes a variety of revenue sources for the transportation projects; and SB 5972 details the specific projects that will be funded, including $3.5 billion for the removal and replacement of fish culverts.
