Legislation to protect minors from sexual exploitation

HB 1872, sponsored by Rep. Brad Klippert (R-Kennewick), creates a process by which a prosecuting attorney may issue a subpoena to a provider of electronic communications services to produce records when the attorney has reason to suspect a crime of involving the sexual exploitation of children has been committed.

HB 1872 is scheduled for a hearing in the House Civil Rights & Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, February 20 at 8 am. The bill is also scheduled for a committee vote on Friday at 10 am.
