Law enforcement behavioral health grant bill gets public hearing

Contact: Sharon Swanson, Brandon Anderson

HB 1767 establishes a grant program for local law enforcement agencies to aide in the expansion of initiatives that connect individuals with behavioral health needs who are currently in the criminal justice system to appropriate services. Although this bill focuses on post-arrest interventions, it is another tool to assist law enforcement with aiding those in need.

Dates to remember

The bill is scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday, February 5 at 3:30 pm in the House Public Safety Committee.
