HB 1152 prohibits state or local law enforcement from using the fact that a person is a motorcycle rider as a basis for a stop.
HB 1152, sponsored by Rep. Steve Kirby (D-Tacoma), creates a private cause of action against the officer or agency who employs the officer who profiled them. If motorcycle profiling is established, victims are entitled to recover actual damages and attorney fees.
AWC opposes this legislation as overly broad.
