The USDA has more than $4 billion in funding to help rural communities build or upgrade water, wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste infrastructure.
The agency is providing the funding through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program. The loans can finance drinking water, sewer water, storm water, and waste disposal systems for rural communities with 10,000 or fewer residents. For communities needing project technical assistance, funding is available through USDA’s Circuit Rider program and through SEARCH grants.
