In May, AWC participated in the Pacific Northwest Regional Economics Conference (PNREC) in Tacoma. The PNREC serves as a forum for regional leaders to connect and exchange knowledge and expertise on issues related to economics and development.

Academics, business leaders, students, and government officials presented on a wide array of economic development topics including income and wages, affordable housing, transportation and infrastructure, energy, and e-commerce. The keynote speakers of the conference were Jacob Vigdor from the University of Washington and Michael Reich from the University of California, Berkeley who discussed their opposing research on the impact of Seattle’s minimum wage law.

Visit PNREC’s website if you would like to participate in next year’s PNREC or learn more about the conference.
