Governor Inslee signed two bills related to cybersecurity and open government. HB 1471 allows discussion of cybersecurity issues in executive session with legal counsel present. HB 1829 specifies that certain information regarding public and private computer and telecommunications networks is exempt from disclosure under the Public Records Act. Potentially exempt records include security passwords, security access codes and programs, access codes for secure software applications, security and service recovery plans, security risk assessments, and security test results to the extent that they identify specific system vulnerabilities.
