Great news for municipalities! Nearly 3.5M in refunds
The AWC Retro Board has voted to disperse $3.48 million in refund dollars to 2019 Pool members! The AWC Workers’ Comp Retro Program is receiving the highest refund in program history—$4.9M, for the 2019 year. The Retro Board also voted to reserve a portion of the refund to build and stabilize our financial position, protecting members in future years. Increased CQC scholarships deadline is nearing!
Engage and acknowledge your youth by nominating them for a CQC scholarship. Have you heard? AWC’s Center for Quality Communities will now award up to ten $2,500 scholarships (up from $1,500), for continuing education in March 2023. Scholarship winners will also receive a travel reimbursement to attend AWC’s Annual Conference in Spokane this June. Invest in the future and nominate a deserving student today! Housing Solutions Group makes recommendations
A group of city officials spent this fall meeting together and sometimes with external partners, including key legislators and Governor Inslee. The HSG’s task was to develop a proactive suite of legislative proposals to address the housing affordability and supply challenges facing all corners of the state.
