Tools for manufactured housing communities

Contact: AWC online learning

Resident-owned communities (ROCs), are an affordable housing model where residents of manufactured home communities collectively purchase the land their homes sit on, forming a cooperative that both owns and manages the community. The goal of a ROC is to provide long-term affordability, security, and wealth-building opportunities, especially for low-income homeowners in manufactured housing communities.

Back by popular demand, AWC is teaming up with Victoria O'Banion, the Housing Cooperative Development Manager at the Northwest Cooperative Development Center, for a follow-up to our recent webinar on building affordable housing through cooperative ownership in Washington using the ROC-USA model.

In this follow-up training, our panel of experts will go beyond the basics of how the Resident-Owned Community model works and take a deeper dive into planning processes and funding options. Get inspired by success stories and strategies, including practical advice from a Grandview councilmember who recently leveraged available resources to help residents purchase their mobile home park.

  • Explore funding options for ROC housing models and compare their benefits and differences
  • Understand how to establish a path forward through the planning and policy development processes
  • Get answers to your questions about potential or future projects in your own city or town

This webinar is for city/town mayors, councilmembers, city administrators/managers, planning, and housing staff.
