Budgeting with an equity lens

Cities across the state and nation are grappling with the impacts of recent events. The pandemic highlighted not just class inequities, but the seemingly inseparable relationship between race, class, and access to public goods.

The City of Tacoma, one of many cities asking these questions, recently developed budget strategies to include public engagement from some of the most underrepresented communities in the city.
