New obligations for transit members
In late November L&I filed expedited rulemaking to update their recordkeeping rule. This rule update will change electronic filing obligations for a narrow group of our Retro members.
For cities and counties, no new obligation will exist. For transit agencies, there may be an increased reporting obligation. Under the updated rule:
- Employer establishments that employed 250 or more employees must submit their 300A injury and illness summary
- Employer establishments that employed between 20 and 250 different employees, which are in identified industries must submit their OSHA form 300A summary. The only employers in our membership group on the industry list are transit agencies.
- Employer establishments with more than 100 different employees, an on LNI’s industry list must submit their injury and illness log (OSHA form 300) as well as the individual injury forms (OSHA form 301s). Like the above segment, the only employers in our membership group on the industry list are transit agencies.
All electronic reporting has a submittal deadline of March 2.
