Applications for the 2024-25 Washington State Archives’ Local Records Grants open February 1. The grants support local governments in improving their public records organization, digitization, and technology tools.

The Washington Secretary of State 2024-25 Local Records Grant cycle timeline:

  • February 1, 2024 – Applications open
  • March 1, 2024 – Applications close at 11:59 pm
  • March 4 – Late May, 2024 – Application review
  • Late May, 2024 – Grant awards announced
  • May – June, 2024 – Contracts executed
  • July 1, 2024 – Grantees have started their grant projects
  • May 30, 2025 – Final date to submit reimbursement requests (2024-25 Round)

Please note: Applications for the 2024-25 round will be open during February, which is earlier than in previous rounds, in order to give the grantees as close to a full year to complete their projects as possible.

The Washington State Archives’ Local Records Grant Program supports local agencies’ ability to improve their public records organization, digitization, and technology tools. Since its start, the program has awarded just over $4.5 million to hundreds of local government agencies statewide, including cities and towns; counties; fire, school, hospital, port, and public utility districts; transit authorities; and more.

    • Wednesday, February 20 at 2 pm
