Plan changes

Regence/Asuris/Kaiser (all self-insured plans)

  • $25,000 lifetime infertility benefit added. Medical diagnosis of infertility required.
  • Wondr Health (formerly Naturally Slim) – reduced minimum BMI for participation from 25 to 19.

Regence/Asuris (HealthFirst 250, AHN plans)
Specialty drug benefit reduced from 90-day to 30-day supply to align with other AWC Trust plans and industry standard.

Willamette Dental
Plans become self-insured. This will have no impact to plan designs or how benefits pay but will align the Willamette plans with other AWC Trust self-insured plans.

Standard – Basic life
Accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) will now be a packaged benefit with basic life insurance at no additional cost.

  • Employers who currently have basic life with AD&D will see a decrease in their January 2022 premium.
  • Employers who have basic life without AD&D will see no difference in their premium but AD&D will be added for all employees with basic life.

Standard – Additional life
Due to these changes, there will be a special open enrollment for employers that currently offer additional life to their employees. Watch for a special edition ofFor Your Health in late October for details.

  • Employee – maximum coverage increased from $300,000 to $500,000.
  • Spouse/domestic partner – cap increased from 50% to 100% of employee election.

Standard – Basic and additional life plans
Age reduction benefit removed. With this change, employers that have employees age 65+ and spouses/domestic partners covered on additional life will see an increase in their January 2022 coverage and premium.
