Having trouble getting PPE? The State can help

The current COVID-19 case surge caused by the Delta variant has put new strains on the personal protective equipment (PPE) supply chain. If your city is having trouble obtaining PPE through normal commercial channels, the Department of Health (DOH) may be able to provide your city with access to the state backstop supply of PPE.

The process for requesting PPE through the DOH is simple – cities need to complete a resource request form and a PPE order form and submit both forms to their local county emergency manager.

Cities that request PPE from DOH can use the items for a variety of situations, such as:

• Providing PPE to employees as they return to in-person work;
• Donating PPE to local non-profit organizations that care for homeless or low-income individuals; or
• Contributing PPE during emergency situations that require large groups of people to gather indoors (wildfires, cooling centers, warming shelters).

Available PPE from DOH includes sized nitrile gloves, disposable gowns, and masks.
