The Department of Commerce (Commerce) recently released a draft <a target="_blank" href="https://deptofcommerce.box.com/shared/static/rhhlmvhrby97ra934s59ve7vxv5krmy3.pdf">guidance for developing a housing action plan</a>.

The Department of Commerce (Commerce) recently released a draft guidance for developing a housing action plan. This guidance will help communities throughout Washington develop housing action plans (HAPs), which provide a framework for assessing local or regional housing needs, identifies barriers to new housing production, and develops strategies to more effectively encourage or support housing production and preservation.

The Legislature passed HB 1923 in 2019, which set requirements for HAPs and provided a grant program for local governments to develop them.

A webinar in partnership with MRSC on this guidance will be presented on July 8 from 1:30 – 3pm. You can register here.

For more information or to comment on the draft guidance, contact Anne Fritzel (360.259.5216) at Commerce. Commerce is accepting comments until September 30.
