WSDOT Local Programs Biannual 2020 Report

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Local Programs division recently released their <a target="_blank" href="https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/sites/default/files/2018/08/16/LP-Current-Bi-Annual-Report.pdf">biannual report</a>&mdash;covering the 2020 Supplemental Transportation Budget, Connecting Washington projects, Local Programs Safety Program, funding updates, and other agency updates.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Local Programs division recently released their biannual report—covering the 2020 Supplemental Transportation Budget, Connecting Washington projects, Local Programs Safety Program, funding updates, and other agency updates.

WSDOT Local Programs’ summer report discusses the impacts of COVID-19 and I-976 on the 2020 Supplemental Transportation Budget. Some specific notable changes in the Local Programs Capital Program and Operating Program include:

  • $66.5 million programmatic reductions for capital project spending underruns, based on historical underspending trends;
  • $7.9 million reduction for local projects that are not able to move forward due to local decisions and circumstances;
  • Proviso was added that requires the department to convene a stakeholder group to develop a recommendation for a Washington freight advisory committee; and
  • Increase of funding up to $450,000 available for Multiuse Roadway Safety Grant Program.
