Thank you to the 241 city officials who signed on to AWC's letter asking Governor Inslee to provide funding to all cities and towns in Washington.

Thank you to the 241 city officials who signed on to AWC's letter asking Governor Inslee to provide funding to all cities and towns in Washington. On Monday, April 27, we sent the letter to the Governor and legislative leaders.

We are extremely pleased to share that Governor Inslee announced the state will distribute nearly $300 million in federal funding to cities, towns, and counties from the money the state received through the CARES Act. Each city will be eligible for up to $30 per capita and a minimum distribution of $25,000 for allowable expenses. The Governor’s Office provided this table that outlines funding distributions for cities and counties.

Legislative leaders have ten days to consider the Governor's plan. We encourage you to continue to reach out to your local legislators and share how your city has been impacted by COVID-19 and what your response has been to help keep your community safe.

As more details about the funding become available, we will share that information with our members.

Thank you, cities, for your quick action to help ensure funding for all cities and towns.
