Change to B&O tax deadline for annual filers passes House

<a target="_blank" href="https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=1059&amp;Year=2019&amp;Initiative=false"><strong>2SHB 1059</strong></a> was amended and passed by the House and is awaiting action in the Senate Ways &amp; Means Committee.

2SHB 1059 was amended and passed by the House and is awaiting action in the Senate Ways & Means Committee. The bill moves the deadline for annual filers of B&O tax from January 31 to April 15. The bill was amended to provide cities that have a B&O tax additional time to implement the change. Cities have until January 1, 2021 to change the reporting period.

The other amendment is a null and void clause requiring funding in the operating budget.

AWC is continuing to monitor the bill.

The bill is scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday, March 19 in the Senate Ways & Means Committee at 3:30 pm.
