If passed by the Legislature, <a target="_blank" href="https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=1782&Year=2019&Initiative=false"><strong>HB 1782</strong></a> would extend the scope of the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA).
If passed by the Legislature, HB 1782 would extend the scope of the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA). The bill would include public agency advisory boards, committees, or other similar advisory groups established to provide recommendations or proposals to a governing body. The House State Government & Tribal Relations Committee adopted a substitute version of the bill that includes technical fixes that limit the scope of the expansion.
After it was amended, HB 1782 was placed in the House Rules Committee and has until Wednesday, March 13 to be voted out of the House.
