SB 5384 would allow counties to establish a process to authorize tiny house communities outside of urban growth areas or limited areas of more intense rural development if the county finds that there is a shortage of affordable housing within a “reasonable distance from urban services.”
SB 5384 would allow counties to establish a process to authorize tiny house communities outside of urban growth areas or limited areas of more intense rural development if the county finds that there is a shortage of affordable housing within a “reasonable distance from urban services.” The bill also defines tiny houses, including those with wheels, and tiny house communities.
SB 5384 also applies the manufactured/mobile home landlord tenant act and directs the owner of land to make “reasonable accommodations” for utility hookups, including sewer, which may conflict with the Growth Management Act. SB 5384 is sponsored by Sen. Hans Zeiger (R–Puyallup).
We would appreciate your perspective on this bill.
