The final deadline for all cities with business licenses to adopt the required model license threshold and for AWC to report to the Legislature is fast approaching. Last week, AWC sent a survey to the business license cities with the January 1 deadline to collect information on what they have adopted or plan to adopt.

The mandatory model license provisions include a minimum business activity threshold for non-resident businesses and a uniform definition of engaging in business.

If your city plans to communicate these changes to your business community, AWC’s white paper includes a sample letter that explains the changes.

AWC is required to report to the Legislature on city implementation of the model threshold by January 1, 2019.
