HB 2752 affects the six cities in the state that straddle more than one county. It also impacts King County because its district court covers more than one county. Of the six cities, only three have municipal courts – Bothell, Milton, and Pacific.

The bill authorizes judges in district and municipal courts with jurisdiction encompassing all or part of more than one county to issue statewide search warrants for offenses allegedly occurring in any of the counties within that court’s jurisdiction.

The Legislature passed HB 2752 and, if signed by the Governor, it will go into effect 90 days after the end of session.
