The Washington State Department of Ecology has begun scoping a general update to the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) cleanup rule (Chapter 173-340 WAC). Stakeholder input will determine which parts of the rule should be updated first.
AWC encourages those concerned about toxic cleanup in their communities to participate in the rulemaking process. Join Ecology’s listserv on the project, and you will receive an announcement for an upcoming online listening session. You can also submit written comments with your priorities for the rule update via Ecology’s eComment webpage through April 15.
