Tourism promotion fee extension bill set for committee vote

A bill to eliminate the expiration of the authority for a city or county tourism promotion fee is set for a committee vote.

HB 2278 would eliminate the July 1, 2027, expiration date to allow tourism promotion areas to continue to charge an additional $3 per night fee for tourism promotion in addition to the $2 per night fee. The bill was heard in the House Finance Committee on February 6 and is scheduled for a committee vote on February 9.
