Local option short term rental tax passes Senate
SB 5334 passed out of the Senate and has been scheduled for a hearing in the House. The proposal authorizes cities and counties to levy a tax on short term rentals of up to 10% in 1% increments. The revenues can be used on a wide range of affordable housing purposes. AWC is supporting this measure and would encourage cities to let their delegation know of their support.
Date to remember
SB 5334 is scheduled for a public hearing in the House Local Government Committee on Wednesday, February 14 at 8 am.
