Reductions to DOR business license service handling fees for online licensing and renewals proposed

Contact: Candice Bock, Sheila Gall

The Department of Revenue (DOR) will hold a hearing on November 28 on a proposed rule reducing the business license service (BLS) handling fees for licensing and renewals. The administration fees are paid by businesses accessing the platform for licensing and renewals. The handling fee for new business registrations will be reduced from $90 to $50 and the license renewals will change from $10 to $5.

DOR has been onboarding cities to BLS for several years in response to 2017 legislation that required cities to use either BLS or Filelocal for online platform for business licensing.
