New Community Wildfire Defense Grants
The U.S. Forest Service has announced a new Community Wildfire Defense Grant program funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. These grants
are intended to help at-risk local communities and tribes plan for and reduce their risks from wildfire.
These grants are an exceptional opportunity to fund the implementation or development of Community Wildfire Preparedness Plans and other wildfire hazard mitigation efforts.
State Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary S. Franz published this letter emphasizing the urgency and value of this grant program.
According to Commissioner Franz, “These grants are an exceptional opportunity to fund the implementation or development of Community Wildfire Preparedness Plans and other wildfire hazard mitigation efforts.” The Washington State Department
of Natural Resources plans to begin hosting weekly webinars – watch for those to kick off soon. Read this flyer for more information and apply by October 5, 8 pm.
